New Zealand Schools team named for Test against Australia Schools at Porirua Park, Saturday 4 October, kick-off 2.50pm.

The New Zealand Schools team to face Australia Schools in their match at Porirua Park in Porirua on Saturday has been named.

Rieko Ioane will captain the team.

Shaun Stevenson has been ruled out of the side due to injury sustained during the team’s match against Fiji Schools on Tuesday. New Zealand Schools won that match 58-0.
Caleb Makene from New Zealand Schools Barbarians has joined the team as a replacement player.

Other changes to the team include Shaun Stodart in the front row and Ereatara Enari wearing the number 10 jersey. The back line has also been re-jigged due to Stevenson’s injury, and Jonah Lowe will start on the wing.
New Zealand Schools Coach Dave Hewett said the team was excited to take on Australia and were expecting the Australians to be determined for a win.
“The team performed well against Fiji and we’re expecting Australia to be another tough challenge for us. The team is very aware that Australia will be looking for a win and we will need to be at our very best to beat them,” he said.
This match follows New Zealand Schools Barbarians v Fiji at 1.10pm.
