Current Standings
Current Standings

Mid Canterbury can secure the home Meads Cup Semi-Final with victory over Horowhenua-Kapiti while Neighbours South Canterbury host North Otago in what could decide the final top 4 . A win by North Otago could see the three South Island teams lock in places for the Meads cup semi finals , while Wanganui at home to Poverty Bay and Wairarapa-Bush away to East Coast will be hoping the Green & Blacks can hold off  the improving North Otago side , giving them their window to be at the business end of the season.

West Coast continue their run with a home match against King Country and a win by the Red&Whites can secure them a top 7 place and guaranteed Semi final position , they also have the outside chance of still qualifying for the Meads Cup , as this years competition looks to be going down to the final round to see the final Meads and Lochore Cup Semi-finalists decided.

Buller who are currently 9th on point differential host the swampfoxes and they themselves are on a mission, especially after last seasons stella year the Buller boys have had an average season this time around , but they are a finals rugby side and know what they need to do get into the finals. Thames Valley though have been running hot and cold all season and an away win here could prove vital to their advancement.

Wanganui , based on stats …. seem to have the easy road in to the finals as they take on Poverty Bay , a team that has not seen success against the Butcher Boys in ten attempts in the current Heartland format. A bonus point win here to Wanganui would see them move to 28 points and a clear gap back to whoever finishes the round in 4th place.

Wairarapa-Bush have the difficult roadtrip to Ruatoria this week , and East Coast seem to be due a win as they have been improving all season. A victory here would be a great reward to the Ngati Porou fans but it will be a difficult assignment for them. Their is also again to be a Live Stream available for this match via the East Coast website at http://npec.co.nz .

MATCH STATISTICS head to head

We continue our head to head match-ups with West Coast vs King Country , these two sides first met in 1985 and it was not until 2004 that West Coast got their maiden victory over the Rams.

A win in Greymouth this weekend will go a long way for either team to cement a semi-finals position.
