New Zealand club rugby round-up 30 April

New Zealand club rugby round-up 30 April

There were many gripping club rugby performances around the country on Saturday as the glorious autumnal weather continued in many places. Several of the country’s university clubs were without players, on duty with the NZU team in Poverty Bay. Lincoln in Christchurch lost 21-23 to HSOB and Varsity in Manawatu went down 15-17 to COB in a thriller.

Perhaps the game of the week was played in the Horowhenua-Kapiti competition, where Levin College Old Boys and Waikanae fought out a 40-40 draw in a top-of-the-table clash. Waikanae led 26-24 at halftime, but the Levin side fought back to draw level at the end.
