\u00a0– RugbyHeartland from today have been given the go-ahead to publish stories from the Tasman Rugby Union’s (TRU) e-newsletter the “Clubland Chat”. So we shall now be able to bring you all the Club News from the Nelson Bays RU and Marlborough RU’s .<\/em><\/p>\n

So to start , here is a a look at how the Marlborough Club scene is going and again thank you to the TRU for allowing us to spread the news to a wider audience.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n

High scoring games were the order of the day in round two of the Bayleys Tasman Trophy Rugby competition.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"marl\"<\/a>Waimea Old Boys made a big statement by thrashing last year\u2019s Marlborough champions Central 80 to 38 at Jubilee park in Richmond. Waimea Old Boys were just too strong all across the park with big lock Tevita Cavubati and halfback Kaide Whiting two of many Waimea players to impress.<\/p>\n

At Lansdowne Park it was certainly a game of two halves between Wanderers and Harlequins. The home side Harlequins dominated much of the first spell and lead 24 points to 7 just before half time. Wanderers however showed their class as the game wore on and ended up running away with the game 48 points to 24. Wanderers enjoyed dominance at set piece all day with Harlequins struggling to secure even their own set piece ball. Lock Ben Douglas and openside Steve Soper were prominent for the visitors whilst Quins halfback Dan MacDonald was their best on the day.<\/p>\n

In other results Kahurangi hosted Moutere and ran out 31 to 3 victors, Nelson were too strong for Stoke beating them 33 to 19, Marist comfortably accounted for Awatere 50 to 21 and in Picton home side Waitohi had to work hard but eventually overcame\u00a0Renwick 24 points to 14.<\/p>\n
