Wanganui gain a share of Heartland lead

Wanganui joined King Country at the top of the Heartland points table after round three games on Saturday.

Wanganui scored 53 points in beating a scoreless Poverty Bay side while King Country had a close 22-18 win over North Otago.

Mid Canterbury are two points behind the leaders on 12 points after their 36-29 win over West Coast in Ashburton.

Thames Valley maintained its good start to the season with a 43-22 win over Buller away in Westport.

Horowhenua Kapiti is hosting South Canterbury at Westpac Stadium in Wellington on Sunday.
