Since our inception in 1996 we have always been on the lookout for a partner that has had the same ethos as we do, to help and support where we can Grassroots rugby in New Zealand by promoting their clubs and stories where we can, either via social media our website or by sponsoring teams.
2022 has been a break through year for our organisation with our first club sponsorship, seeing us sponsoring the #15 Jersey for the Reefton Rangers Senior Men’s team in the Buller Club Rugby competition and then having the privilege of getting our name on the #17 Jersey for South Canterbury’s Ranfurly Shield challenge against Hawkes Bay.
As we began to look further afield we began discussion’s with David Mays a Former National Coach of Canada, Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, West Indies, Cayman, British Virgin Islands. To our surprise we found that this expat Englishman was now residing in the Bay of Plenty and he had similar connections within Heartland Rugby as we do.
After mentioning what our vision was we decided to go ahead to begin our own merchandise line for RugbyHeartland that will initially see us with Rugby Jerseys and Polo tops highlighting “96” in reference to our beginning in 1996 covering Rugby Online here from New Zealand (see below).
Looking back we can safely say we have been seen as one of the pioneers of where rugby is now online, seeing all the clubs and provinces being very active online promoting their clubs and regions.
After our discussions we came to an understanding that P2P Sports Ltd. and RugbyHeartland.co.nz had the same vision to help teams across Aotearoa whether they be the smallest club , settled Premier Club teams, social teams or even full first class provincial teams, to provide them with price effective product from training gear, on-field playing kits to aftermatch “number 1’s” at costs that can make the smallest clubs look smart and professional at affordable prices and also at a turnaround that see’s ordered products delivered in a timely manner.
