Top Favorite National Teams to win the Rugby World Cup

Five months until the mouth-watering affair, the Rugby World Cup fixtures will kick off soon- 8th September to 28th October. This entrancing event is set to focus on matches played across France. Three-time winner New Zealand can fancy their chances, and South Africa is already showing all signs of defending their title after beating England in 2019.

Chile is set to make its debut in France in 2023, with a total of 12 teams taking part in the World Cup. Canada has failed to qualify for the Rugby Championship, resulting in 10 teams in every edition. With so much enthusiasm surrounding oddsninja.com, let’s take pot-shots at the national teams on the rise in the rugby scene.

Here’s your chance to glance at the sides fighting for the year’s title. Though Japan did not win the prestigious prize on home soil in 2019, what’s cooking with France this year?

  • France

Being the host country, France is expected to outperform this year. France’s roster seems much in favor and is already qualifying as one of the favourites. Though they have never won the World Cup before, they are ranked second in the world and the only undefeated RWC team in 2022. A ferocious and competent Les Bleus is sure to be backed by ardent fans. France’s depth will see them through to the final four, and a little birdie is predicting France to win the World Cup.

  • New Zealand

1987, 2011 and 2015; New Zealand took the trophy and is likely to lift the Webb Ellis Cup this season. The All Blacks team has injected some mad talent and crazy experienced players like Beauden Barrett, Same Cane, and so many more. Tough to beat, huh?

New Zealand is competing closely with France but has claimed victory against Australia and Argentina. Though early 2022 was a bit of a struggle, the year ended with a seven-match unbeaten run.

  • South Africa

A tough contender indeed! The 2019 Rugby World Cup winner may just repeat their success in 2023. With some major inspiration from captain Siya Kolisi and an impressive series win against the British and Irish Lions in 2021, the Springboks are a force to be reckoned with. RWC is bringing together the countries of the Southern Hemisphere – South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Argentina; the former is surely on the best sides.

  • Ireland

The World ranking says it all, Ireland is doing great! Ireland won the earlier tournament, fifteenth with a Triple Crown, thirteenth, and a Grand Slam, their fourth and their first win in Dublin. Led by coach Andy Farrell, Ireland is entering the Championship as one of the favourites. Considering past statistics, Ireland has reached the quarter-final stage seven times but not advanced it. We have clearly not seen them perform under pressure yet. Though Ireland has some insane energy, competing with France or New Zealand will be a tough move.

The above-mentioned are a handful of possibilities of what’s expected in the Rugby World Cup 2023. What’s more? Georgia could defeat Fiji, Wales and Portugal. Argentina could go beyond the final eight lists. Chile is likely to be a fan-favourite in France.

Fans are gushing with enthusiasm with a different die-hard favourite. Let’s wait and watch who’s going to take the title home!
