King Country continued apace in its Heartland Championship race when beating Buller 30-28 in week two of the competition on Saturday.
Dean Church crossed three times in Westport to maintain his side’s bonus point advantage over Wanganui who beat West Coast 33-21.
North Otago has a share of second after scoring in the 82nd minute of their game with Mid Canterbury. Josh Buchan needed to land a tricky conversion attempt from wide out, and into a south-east wind, to secure the victory 34-33 in Ashburton.
